exceptional care

I will be forever grateful to Ann, Krissy & Sara @ birthroot for their exceptional care and loving support during the most profound experience of my life. After my final postpartum visit I actually experienced a bit of grief/sadness that I wouldn’t be coming in for regular visits anymore. That’s how valuable and supportive these regular visits had been throughout pregnancy and the early postpartum weeks. I had my baby at birthroot and the environment was beautiful, clean, peaceful and made me feel at ease. Ann and Krissy both attended my somewhat long and challenging birth and gave me both the courage and space to trust the process and allow my body to birth in its own timing. We almost transferred to hospital at the end but because Krissy was calm, patient and provided me with all of the information I needed with no fear or judgement and didn’t rush me through that decision, I was able to be with my body for a moment and found the strength to push baby out. I felt so held and supported through what was definitely the hardest thing I’ve ever done. The care and nurturing I received after baby was born was affirming and supportive and helped me transition to mama while feeling mothered myself. I just can’t say enough about how life changing the care I received was. As an extremely sensitive person I knew hospital would likely be too intense for me but I didn’t know how life changing good supportive midwifery care could be. What a difference you are making in the lives of women, babies, families. I am so grateful!
